Good Lemonade

(Nashville Demo - written by Janet Feld/Stan Swiniarski)
He was the star center in varsity
Nothin’ but net from center court
Everyone’s shoutin’ out Bobby’s name
The NBA’s what he’s headed for

Drivin’ himself home after the game
That drunk never noticed the lights had changed
Then there was Bobby in his chair
Askin’ himself why life’s not fair, and

How do you make good lemonade
What’s the secret recipe
To help me sweeten up my reality
God give me the recipe for good lemonade

She was all smarts with looks to match
And Elly thought Jesse was the one
Foggy windows hiding their passion
He told her he was in love

Until the day she said she was late
He said, “I can’t help you carry that weight”
With crying baby in her rocking chair
Askin’ herself why life’s not fair, and

Life can make you sour if you let it
Or you can let your faith and love sweeten it

She was the star center in varsity
Nothin’ but net from across the court
Elly’s shouting out, “Hey that’s my girl!”
NBA is what she’s headed for

Coach Bobby is shouting plays to the team
Cause he never really gave up his dream
Popping wheelies in his chair
As they win the game fair and square

That’s how you make lemonade
There’s no secret recipe
When you ask for help you always get just what you need
When God gives you the recipe for good lemonade
